Sorelle Mbakop graduated from UMass in 2015 with a dual degree in Journalism and Environmental/Natural Resource Economics. While at UMass, Sorelle engaged underserved communities at home and abroad, tutored high school seniors and juniors in Springfield, and completed a full-time internship with the United Nations office in Nairobi. She currently works as an urban business initiatives analyst at the Initiative for a Competitive City, where she supports the implementation of the application and selection process for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. She will be going to France to complete a master’s in sustainable development in developing countries and countries in transition at the University of Auvergne.
